Experienced SQL Database Administrator

As a SQL Database Administrator at our rapidly growing corporate, you will be an integral part of the Information Technology team. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and secure the databases used by our critical enterprise applications. Working closely with Software Development teams, System Owners, and Business Owners, you will ensure that database solutions are optimized for performance, regularly updated, appropriately backed up, and aligned with compliance objectives. The ideal candidate for this role will possess extensive knowledge in database management, a strong background in MSSQL Database Solutions, and a forward-looking approach towards cloud-based database solutions. Your key responsibilities will include managing and optimizing the performance of databases for our critical systems, overseeing backup, restore, and archive procedures of database servers, and upgrading/installing database-related clustered and stand-alone servers in physical and virtual environments. Additionally, you will monitor SQL environments for health and performance, ensure the security and data integrity of all database environments, and troubleshoot and resolve any database-related issues that may arise. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or an equivalent field, have at least 5 years of experience in database administration, and demonstrate a thorough understanding of all features in current versions of Microsoft SQL Server. Experience with cloud-based technologies and Oracle is preferred, along with knowledge of database design and performance tuning. Familiarity with HADR (High Availability / Disaster Recovery), always On, and Failover Clusters will be beneficial.
