Experience Scrub Nurse

Qualifications:

• GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
• Valid nursing registration under State Nursing Council.
• Experience as a scrub nurse preferred (1–3 years).

Key Responsibilities:1. Pre-Operative Duties

• Prepare the operation theatre and ensure sterility before procedures.
• Check and arrange surgical instruments, consumables, and equipment.
• Verify patient identity, surgical site, and procedure as per protocol.
• Ensure availability of necessary implants, sutures, and special instruments.
• Assist in donning sterile gowns and gloves for the surgical team.
• Participate in surgical safety checklists (WHO Checklist).

2. Intra-Operative Duties

• Maintain sterile field throughout the surgery.
• Hand over instruments and supplies to the surgeon and assistant as needed.
• Anticipate the surgeon’s requirements during the procedure.
• Count sponges, instruments, and needles as per policy (initial, intra-op, final count).
• Handle specimens correctly and label them as per protocol.
• Monitor and ensure safe use of surgical equipment like diathermy, suction, etc.

3. Post-Operative Duties

• Assist in dressing the surgical site and transferring the patient safely.
• Perform final instrument and material count and report discrepancies immediately.
• Clean, decontaminate, and send instruments for sterilization.
• Prepare OT for the next procedure.

4. Administrative & Documentation Responsibilities

• Record all intra-operative activities in OT notes/register.
• Maintain implant logs, instrument checklists, and usage reports.
• Report equipment malfunction, incidents, or near misses to OT In-Charge.

5. Compliance & Safety

• Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
• Follow hospital policies, NABH/JCI guidelines, and patient safety standards.
• Participate in OT audits, trainings, and CME programs.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
