Job Description

Job Purpose:

This position is required to achieve the desired level of performance in the following Key Result areas:

  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to check compliance with fire, hazard, and safety guidelines.
  • Respond to emergency situations in most efficient, effective ways possible.
  • Examine hazardous incidents and accidents to uncover causes and provided corrective actions.
  • Create and implement programs, policies and procedures designed to effectively reduce or eliminate injuries and hazards in workplace.
  • Safety training and traffic safety instructional courses which led to marked improvements in safety culture across personnel groups.
  • Create and comply with safety training procedures into manuals to disseminate to staff members.
  • Create and implement safety policies and procedures for HSE Management System.
  • Determine and resolve potential safety code deficits, which addressed adequacy of fire exits, stair ways, aisle spaces and sprinkler systems.
  • Minimize safety infractions through teaching and training in risk management, record keeping, hazard identification and QHSE Assurance.
  • Instruct staffers during fire drills to provide awareness of proper evacuations routes and reporting techniques.
  • Orchestrate occupational safety trend and current hazards analyses.
  • Author, Coordinate, and deliver mass educational briefings focused on occupational mishap trends and prevention.
  • Implement a monthly schedule to conduct fire drills, ensuring that all employees from each shift participate regularly to enhance emergency preparedness and safety awareness within the organization.
  • Aid internal or external auditors in compliance reviews.
  • Safety induction training for new employees and visitors involves educating them on workplace safety protocols, emergency procedures, and hazard awareness to ensure a secure and informed environment. This training aims to minimize accidents and promote a culture of safety within the organization.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Must have relevant training in the relevant areas and should be aware of the applicable laws pertaining to health and safety.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of delivering hands on health, safety and environmental training. Ability to develop,
  • implement, and deliver comprehensive health and safety accident prevention programs.
