Job Requirement

• Senior/lead Database Administrator
• Should have deep expertise - mainly in PostgreSQL (but also some in mongo,redis,SQLite,mysql,etc)
• Experience within AWS/RDS/selfhosted environments
• The vision is a very senior role - our use case is large dbs, complex/interdependent systems, and multitasked between many db related projects, so not to micromanage and handhold for individual tasks, but to leverage experience and bring wizdom and to lead the whole team in this area

Requirements:

• Many years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administration
• Strong experience with AWS RDS for PostgreSQL, including parameter groups, snapshots, and monitoring
• Advanced knowledge of SQL for querying, optimization, and troubleshooting
• Proficiency in performance tuning, vacuuming strategies, indexing, and partitioning
• Experience with high availability, read replicas, and failover strategies
• Scripting experience for automation
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery strategies
• Experience with monitoring tools
• Familiarity with other database technologies
• Maybe experience in regulated environments (e.g., PCI etc)
• Experience migrating from self-hosted to RDS or vice versa
