Description
Role & responsibilities Propose, design and develop architectural hardware solutions including hinges, locks, handles, sliding mechanisms & other hardware mechanisms tailored for window and door systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into technical specifications. Conduct feasibility studies, prototyping, and testing to validate design concepts. Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using design software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar). Analyse and optimize designs for strength, durability, corrosion resistance, and thermal performance. Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in architectural hardware and aluminium systems. Work closely with sales, marketing, and customer service teams to address client needs and provide technical support. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Machine Design or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in product designing & development activity in Architectural hardware , uPVC/Aluminium doors & windows, hinges, locking systems etc... Work experience in Fenestration industry will be an added advantage. Must be able to manage team of Design Engineers. Our client is looking to hire candidates only from Building materials OR Architecture Hardware companies. Its an office based role. So, candidates who are willing to travel OR willing to relocate to Pune are preferable. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar). Knowledge of materials, especially metals, coatings, and finishes suitable for architectural hardware. Understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, sheet metal, extrusion, and injection molding.
