IT QA Engineer - BI Reporting

Fastenal India is looking for an IT QA Engineer seeking a detail-oriented and proactive BI Reporting QA Analyst having experience in testing Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, ETL processes, and data reporting platforms.

• Design and document test scenarios, test cases, and test strategies for BI and ETL workflows
• Analyze business requirements and technical specifications for effective test planning and estimation
• Validate data sources, transformation logic, and target tables using ETL testing techniques
• Perform UI validation of Power BI reports including filters, drilldowns, and layout checks
• Test dashboards, KPIs, and role-based visualizations for accuracy and data integrity
• Execute Sanity, Regression, SIT, and UAT testing across multiple environments
• Log and manage defects using JIRA or equivalent tools with detailed documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth sprint transitions and releases
• Support test automation and CI/CD integration using Python, pySpark, and Azure DevOps
• Maintain traceability matrices and provide documentation for QA processes and knowledge transfer

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of Data Warehouse, BI Reporting, and ETL testing concepts
• Proficient in writing and executing complex SQL queries
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Database, Toad, and SQL Server Management Studio
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure Data Factory and Databricks
• Exposure to Python and pySpark for data validation and automation
• Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS
• Working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and test management tools
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and QA processes
• Knowledge of role-based access, data security, and performance testing (preferred)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Qualifications:

• B.E, B. Tech, MCA, M. Sc
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
