Estimation Engineer

Role & responsibilities:

• Plan for, monitor and review of mfd. parts activities cost estimation of outsourced parts as well as production order/routing of in-house mfd. parts, spare parts of machines
• Cost estimation of outsourced as well as in-house mfd. parts within budget
• Development of required skills of subordinate/s for accurate/workable cost estimation
• Making & explaining mfg. process sequence to vendors thr vendor engineers for economical mfg.
• Input/guidance to vendor engineers for mfg. of critical components, if reqd., to RM purchase for reqd. sizes of RM
• Forwarding ICNs to Design for change in unwanted close tolerances, treatments, ease of mfg. of components, missing dimensions, cost reduction etc.
• Close coordination with PPC, Vendor Mfg., for urgent parts cost estimation & daily with QA for inspection calls of vendor parts
• Cost reduction in manufactured parts.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Understanding of engineering drawings
• Knowledge of costing methodologies
• Good communication & negotiation skills
• Hands on experience in machine tool industry
• Hands on experience in dealing with machine manufacturers preferred
• SAP MM module related to purchase activities
• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes in the industry & sequence of operations
• Knowledge of MS Office
