Equity Research Associate

The Equity Research Associate position based in Chennai is part of a 2-year management trainee program designed for undergraduates. As an Equity Research Associate, you will play a crucial role in the company's research and analysis activities. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting in constructing and updating detailed financial models for the companies within the coverage universe. This involves adhering to the firm's comprehensive checklist, including forensic checks. Additionally, you will collaborate with the analyst team to conduct in-depth research on both listed and unlisted companies. This entails analyzing financial statements, reviewing annual reports and conference calls, and monitoring regulatory filings to assess historical data, business cycles, and earnings potential. You will be tasked with providing regular updates on the coverage universe by analyzing quarterly earnings, management conference calls, and information from various media outlets. Conducting channel checks by engaging with industry contacts, suppliers, customers, peers, and other stakeholders to gather valuable insights will also be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining various trackers to monitor sector-specific and company-specific trends. It is essential to ensure that all research activities and deliverables are conducted in strict compliance with relevant laws and regulatory requirements. To excel in this role, you must have a genuine passion for equity markets and possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Managing multiple tasks simultaneously, setting priorities, and making informed decisions autonomously are key attributes for success.
