V-Guard is seeking a Lead Scrap Sourcing Manager to drive the strategic procurement of lead scrap, align with smelter partners, optimize the conversion process, and manage EPR credit transfers. The incumbent will play a crucial role in ensuring a cost-effective, sustainable, and compliant supply of lead for battery production. In this position, your responsibility will be to set-up and oversee the entire procurement process for lead scrap sourcing, ensuring the availability of high-quality scrap materials at the most competitive prices. You will ensure the eco-system is maintained and nurtured with a long-term view. You'll work closely with lead scrap suppliers, smelters, internal stakeholders as well as other ecosystem partners such as eauction platforms etc. , & negotiate contracts/agreements, ensuring optimum terms for the company while maintaining robust, reliable supply chain relationships & outputs. Understanding market dynamics, monitoring market developments, trends & prices will be key to the role for anticipating changes in pricing and supply risks. This pivotal role demands battery scrap sourcing capabilities, adept negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the dynamics of lead metal as well as scrap lead market to ensure the consistent, cost-effective, and sustainable procurement of lead (& scrap lead) metal. Responsibilities Scrap Sourcing and Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and engage with suppliers of lead scrap to ensure a reliable supply. Develop and implement sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and supply security. Conduct supplier performance evaluations for both scrap sourcing and smelting partners Build costing templates and analyze price gaps to enable data-driven negotiations. Market Intelligence & Industry Trends: Continuously monitor and analyze the global & Indian lead market, including price trends, supply risks, competition activity and regulatory changes. Provide actionable insights to support procurement decisions and risk mitigation Scrap Battery Sourcing: Establish and oversee scrap battery sourcing channels, including: Battery dealer networks Customer service networks Direct scrap collection from Channel/ ASP Implement efficient procurement plans to ensure cost-competitive sourcing of scrap lead batteries. Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with suppliers and smelters, securing favorable terms on pricing, payment conditions, and delivery schedules. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure the procured lead meets required specifications and standards. ESG Norms: Ensure procurement aligns with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) standards. Partner with smelters practicing responsible and sustainable lead recycling to meet regulatory and EPR compliance. Inventory & Logistics Management: Plan and forecast lead requirements in coordination with S&OP and business planning teams. Manage inventory levels to prevent raw material shortages at manufacturing plants. Work closely with the logistics team to streamline transportation of lead scrap and finished goods. Expected Skills Strong negotiation & vendor management expertise. Analytical mindset with market intelligence & costing capabilities. Knowledge of EPR compliance & sustainability in lead sourcing. Experience in logistics & inventory planning. Expertise and Qualification Degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Science, Environmental Science, or related fields, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in metals or mining. MBA/ Post Graduation in relevant areas would get preference. Minimum of 5/10/15 years experience in setting up systems, metals/ lead procurement, preferably including the scrap battery procurement or arrangements. About the Role: Recykal is seeking an Assistant Manager Capacity & Inventory (EPR – all verticals) who will be responsible for identifying, onboarding, and managing a strong network of plastic and EBT processors/recyclers across India. This role will focus on building capacity for credit fulfillment, tracking recycler inventory, and supporting operational alignment to meet client obligations under the EPR framework. The candidate will play a key role in building and sustaining vendor relationships, ensuring data and documentation accuracy, and collaborating with internal stakeholders including compliance, planning, and audit teams. Key Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Recycler Network Expansion: Identify and onboard credible recyclers, co-processors, and aggregators across India to build processing capacity for EPR fulfillment. Conduct recycler capability assessments and maintain an active partner roster mapped to geography, category, and material types. 2. Capacity & Inventory Tracking: Monitor recycler-wise monthly inventory and capacity utilization. Work closely with recyclers to understand seasonal and operational variances that affect available capacity. Coordinate data submission from recyclers to ensure timely updates on inventory positions and execution timelines. 3. Compliance & Documentation Support: Liaise with the compliance and legal teams to ensure recyclers meet documentation, certification, and audit-readiness standards. Support in fulfilling documentation needs for audit trails, brand reporting, and CPCB/EPR portal requirements. 4. Operational Coordination: Act as the point of contact for recyclers on capacity commitment and issue resolution. Escalate risks related to inventory gaps, delays, or fulfillment bottlenecks to internal teams. Provide field-level support and coordination for audits and due diligence as required. 5. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with EPR planning and allocation teams to bridge supply-demand gaps. Train recyclers on Recykal tools/EPR Loop vendor portal for capacity, documentation, and execution tracking. 6. Market Intelligence & Strategic Input: Stay updated on various EPR compliances, recycling trends, technologies, and market shifts in multiple waste management. Recommend strategies for diversifying recycler base and improving fulfillment predictability. Qualification and Experience: Graduate in Environmental Science, Waste Management, Supply Chain, sales & Marketing or related fields. 4-6 years’ experience in EPR, vendor management, supply chain, or capacity planning (preferably in any waste management domains-EBT or plastics). Experience working with recyclers/co-processors and familiarity with EPR frameworks. Excellent coordination, negotiation, and relationship management skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities. Proficient in MS Excel/Google Sheets and documentation tools. Willingness to travel for audits, recycler visits, and capacity checks.
