Engineering Manager, Geo Makers Maps Intelligence

As a Software Engineering Manager at Google, your role goes beyond just Search. You will have the technical expertise to provide leadership to major projects and manage a team of Engineers. In this role, you will optimize your own code and ensure that Engineers can optimize theirs. Your responsibilities will include managing project goals, contributing to product strategy, and helping develop your team in various technical areas such as information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and more. Key Responsibilities: - Drive the Maptrics platform's evolution into a GenAI-enabled insights engine. - Collaborate with Product Management, Go-To-Market, Data Science, and UX teams in Bangalore and the US. - Advocate data quality for emerging markets by overseeing the development and management of data processing pipelines, ETL jobs, and data warehouse infrastructure. - Develop and refine quality assessment techniques, including new metric development, side-by-side evaluations, and LLM-based scaled metric design. - Build, manage, and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and performance culture enabling autonomy. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. - 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript). - 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing projects. - 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role. - Experience in developing and managing data processing pipelines, ETL jobs, and data warehouse infrastructure. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with business intelligence tools and transforming them with AI and machine learning capabilities. - Experience in quality assessment techniques such as new metric development, SxS, operational evaluation design, LLM-based scaled metric design. - Understanding of data privacy principles and experience in implementing access control systems.,
