Engineering Manager - Cloud Apps

As a Senior Software Engineering Manager at hirist.tech, you will lead a team of software engineers to build scalable solutions while upholding high engineering and quality standards. Your main responsibilities will include: - Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to understand business problems and develop solutions - Ensuring developed solutions align with established best patterns and architectural target state - Providing technical thought leadership to solve team problems - Driving the adoption of key engineering best practices for improved quality and reliability - Keeping the team engaged, motivated, and operating with high execution velocity - Coaching and mentoring direct reports and assisting in critical talent acquisition - Developing a team of developers through motivation and mentoring - Designing, developing, and evolving highly scalable and fault-tolerant distributed services - Guiding developers in design and coding tasks and coding when necessary - Designing and implementing APIs, abstractions, and integration patterns for challenging distributed computing problems - Owning component security analysis and collaborating with the security team for secure coding techniques - Ensuring proper metrics instrumentation in software components for real-time troubleshooting and performance monitoring Qualifications Required: - 8+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or an Advanced Degree in Computer Science/Engineering - 2+ years of people management experience - Dynamic leadership experience managing highly competent developers in a fast-paced environment - Strong background in software product development, particularly in cloud-based applications with high reliability, availability, and security - Good understanding of Enterprise Application Lifecycle Management needs - Significant experience in building RESTful web services and web applications using Java and the Spring framework - Experience in building service-oriented solutions, Restful microservices, and a strong understanding of Java multi-threading, concurrency, and memory management - Proficiency in relational databases and NoSQL technologies like MongoDB, MySQL, and Redis - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and automation around their APIs - Working knowledge of infrastructure for high availability, scaling, service discovery, logging, monitoring, and alerting - Strong understanding of architecture patterns and operational characteristics of highly available and scalable applications,
