Engineering Lead -VP

As an Engineering Lead-VP at Barclays with a focus on Private Bank & Wealth Management, you will be a key player in Client Lifecycle Management (CLM). One of your main responsibilities will be to oversee Valpre, the platform that streamlines CLM journeys for PBWM through a unified framework. By leading engineering squads working on various components of Valpre such as WebApp Bridge, microfrontends, xAPI/entitlements, domain APIs, and central API Gateway, you will ensure the delivery of secure, resilient, and high-quality experiences for PBWM bankers and operations colleagues globally. **Key Responsibilities:** - Manage engineering teams effectively to achieve project goals and organizational objectives. - Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members. - Oversee timelines, risk management, and task prioritization for successful solution delivery. - Evaluate and enhance engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to optimize team productivity. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. - Enforce technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices. **Qualifications Required:** - Proven experience in managing engineering teams. - Ability to coach and develop technical talent. - Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Kafka, and workflow engines like JBPM/Camunda. - Proficiency in React and Micro Frontend Architecture. - Familiarity with OpenShift (ApaaS) and AWS cloud services. - Proficiency in Liquibase for database version control. - Experience with Oracle Coherence or similar distributed caching solutions. - Experience deploying applications on OpenShift or Kubernetes. - Proficiency with Helm for Kubernetes package management. - Experience on API Gateway patterns and implementations. The location of the role is in Pune, IN. In addition to the technical skills, some highly valued skills may include being a self-starter with good communication skills, solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and modular design principles, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. As part of your role, you will be expected to contribute to setting strategies, driving requirements, and making recommendations for change. You will also need to manage resources, budgets, and policies, deliver continuous improvements, and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
