As an Engineering Lead - Complaints & Advocacy at Barclays, you will embark upon a transformative journey where you will design, develop, and improve software utilizing various engineering methodologies to provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues. Your role will be based in Pune. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensure that the code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. - Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration with business objectives. - Participate in code reviews, promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing, and stay informed about industry technology trends. - Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions. - Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability. **Qualifications Required:** - End-to-end software development lifecycle experience. - Understanding of software development methodologies such as waterfall and agile. - Awareness of leading-edge tools, techniques, and services within IT. - Experience in software development using Java (Servlets), J2EE Frameworks (Spring, Spring boot, Hibernate), databases (Oracle/DB2/SQL), and API (REST/RAML/OAS). - Desired skills include proficiency in JQuery/HTML5/CSS, XML & XML Java Parsers (xsd, dtd), application servers, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Apaas), and version control software (Stash/Bitbucket). In this role, you will be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology skills. Additionally, you will be expected to demonstrate the Barclays Values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Stewardship, as well as the Barclays Mindset of Empower, Challenge, and Drive.
