As an Engineering & AI Manager at Tapplent, your role will be to lead and scale a high-performing engineering team in Bangalore. You will be responsible for fostering a startup-style culture of agility, ownership, and innovation. Your key responsibilities will include: - Leading and scaling a high-performing engineering team, fostering a startup-style culture of agility, ownership, and innovation. - Architecting and overseeing the development of scalable SaaS products using Java Spring Boot (backend) and Angular (frontend). - Leveraging hands-on experience in building full-fledged enterprise applications using Java and Angular, while progressively adopting newer, more advanced technologies to modernize and future-proof systems. - Possessing deep expertise in driving microservices-based architecture and managing system integrations at scale. - Demonstrating hands-on experience integrating products and applications with major ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, and similar platforms. - Participating in and eventually championing the company's AI roadmap, embedding machine learning and intelligence-driven features into products. - Collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Business teams to translate customer needs into scalable, intelligent technology solutions. - Engaging directly with customers and stakeholders, ensuring that solutions are practical, high-impact, and aligned with strategic business outcomes. - Being knowledgeable in and establishing best practices for DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native deployments, and agile execution. - Balancing strategic decision-making with hands-on problem-solving, ensuring both vision and execution excellence. Qualifications and Experience required for this role: - 10-15 years of progressive engineering experience, including 3-5 years in management roles. - Proven success in startup or high-growth environments, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, scale teams, and deliver outcomes in fast-paced settings. - Strong architecture and coding expertise in Java Spring Boot, Angular, microservices, and analytics-driven platforms. - Demonstrated hands-on experience in developing full-fledged enterprise-grade applications using Java and Angular, with a continuous drive to adopt and implement emerging technologies for modernization and scalability. - In-depth experience integrating with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, and other enterprise platforms, ensuring seamless interoperability and data flow. - Proven journey in the AI/ML space, from experimentation and proof-of-concept to deploying production-grade intelligent systems. - Deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, along with DevOps, CI/CD automation, and containerization practices. - Strong foundation in system design, scalability, performance optimization, and security architecture. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical complexity into business impact and influence outcomes across teams.
