Engineer / Sr. Engineer Material Preparation

You will be responsible for daily production planning by creating and implementing production schedules for material cutting and preparation. This will involve coordinating material availability and job order sequencing to ensure smooth operations. Your expertise in machine operations, particularly Laser Cutting, Plasma Cutting, and Oxy-Fuel Cutting machines, will be crucial in supervising cutting operations for dimensional accuracy and quality. Additionally, you will oversee production lines to ensure timely material preparation and flow to fabrication/welding sections. Monitoring machine utilization and coordinating preventive maintenance with maintenance teams will be part of your regular responsibilities. Effective manpower handling by managing and deploying operators and helpers, along with ensuring their training, safety, and productivity on the shop floor, will be essential. Your experience in Nesting software (such as Sigma NEST, Hypertherm Pro Nest) and proficiency in AutoCAD for layout and optimization will be beneficial in your role. Maintaining production tracking and inventory records using SAP or equivalent ERP systems will also be a key aspect of your job. Generating shift reports, production output logs, and inventory updates will help in maintaining efficient operations. To excel in this role, you should have experience in an engineering or fabrication environment, specifically handling sheet metal or structural components. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently under deadlines will be necessary. A comprehensive understanding of material specifications and cutting tolerances will further contribute to your success in this position.,
