Engineer - Preprocessing, Blending & Shredding

Role & responsibilities

1. Operations -

1) Supervises operators and helpers in specific area (receiving, manual sorting, dismantling, feeding, blending).

2) Ensures correct weighing, tagging and stacking of incoming PCB / e-waste;

3) Verifies segregation (high-grade / low-grade PCB, copper-rich items, hazardous parts, plastics etc.);

4) Checks that only permitted material goes to each shredder;

5) Ensures line checks, cleaning and housekeeping;

6) Conducts basic safety talks and toolbox meetings;

7) Reports abnormalities to Shift Incharge.

2.Electrical -

1) Executes routine inspections and minor breakdown jobs on motors, panels, lights, sensors and actuators;

2) Assists in start-up / shutdown and interlock checks;

3) Performs cleaning and tightening of electrical panels in dusty zones;

4) Supports instrument calibration (weigh-bridges, belt scales, level switches);

5) Logs jobs;

6) Follows LOTO and work permits strictly.

3. Mechanical

1) Leads fitter crew in area;

2) Performs routine inspections, lubrication and basic repairs;

3) Checks belt condition, roller health and guards;

4) Supports shutdowns, rotor inspections and knife changes;

5) Ensures correct use and storage of tools & tackles;

6) Maintains housekeeping around mechanical equipment;

7) Records job completion and parts used.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Operations

1) Authorised e-waste dismantlers, refurbishers and recyclers 2) Dry-waste Material Recovery Facilities and scrap-sorting facilities

3) Foundry / secondary metal units handling large volumes of scrap

4) Co-processing or solid-waste shredding facilities.

5) Candidates from informal sector who have moved into formal dismantling / recycling units.

2. Electrical

1) Muncipal Solid Waste, Metal Recovery Facilities and waste-to-energy

2) Cement/steel/mining

3) Any mechanised e-waste or scrap facility.

1) Scrap yards, foundries, secondary metal plants

2) Muncipal Solid Waste, Waste, Scrap plants

3) Cement / steel / mining.
