Job Description

Role Overview: You have a unique opportunity to join Microchip Technology, Inc., a global organization with a diverse and empowering work culture. As a SoC Validation Engineer in the Wireless Products Group, you will be responsible for validating and characterizing future 32-bit microcontroller-based 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee Products. Your role will involve hardware, software, and lab analysis tasks as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development. Key Responsibilities: - Develop validation requirements and test plans for peripherals and full chip SOC operation based on device specifications and design requirements. - Enhance automated validation bench setups and scripts to improve testing efficiency. - Perform validation and characterization testing for new 32-bit microcontrollers. - Design test fixtures and device test programs to meet data sheet specifications. - Set up validation test boards, bench setups, and troubleshoot issues independently. - Utilize standard lab equipment effectively, including oscilloscopes, meters, and power supplies. - Provide technical guidance to junior team members and collaborate with various engineering departments. - Debug Silicon to support product release and make hardware adjustments as needed. - Automate the validation process to streamline validation cycle time. Qualifications Required: - 3-to-5 years of experience in post-silicon validation of digital SOCs. - Proficiency in validating microcontroller architecture with knowledge of ARM architecture and instruction set. - Strong programming skills in C and Assembly Language. - Familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or TCL. - Understanding of key peripherals like SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, CAN, USB, TIMERS, etc. - Knowledge of SOC infrastructure including Power-Management, clock distribution, and emulation. - Excellent engineering documentation, communication, and presentation skills. - Detail-oriented, well-organized, and methodical approach to work. - Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams. - Exposure to NI Tools like Test Stand, LabVIEW is a plus. - Minimum BSEE/BSCE required, MSEE/MSCE preferred from an accredited engineering school.
