Job Description

Role Overview: As a Mechanical Engineer in Design Engineering at Vertiv, you will be responsible for designing enclosures, panels, switchboard panels, cable trays, mounting of equipment, busbars, and other electro-mechanical equipment. You will prepare documentation including sheet metal part & assembly drawings, assembly drawings for installation, component selection for hardware and buy-out parts, fabrication drawings, and conduct basic weight & BOM Qty calculations. It is essential for you to have knowledge about relevant drawing documentation, ISO standards, and basic understanding of international and other standards related to mechanical engineering. Key Responsibilities: - Develop project conceptual and detailed designs in CAD - Create mechanical project documentation based on input data, including detailed sheet metal part & assembly design, installation drawings, fabrication weldment drawings, material submittals, BOM, and presentations - Ensure compliance with international, national, and company standards during the design process - Utilize knowledge and experience to meet project requirements effectively - Participate in project team meetings and coordination meetings, reporting project status to Lead Engineer-Mechanical - Collaborate proactively with team members, initiate RFIs when needed, and develop defined documents according to the Document List (DLIST) - Verify and approve workshop supplier documentation developed by subcontractors - Specify accurate Bill of Material & drawings required for project execution, and support suppliers with additional information during the bidding phase - Provide technical approval for received supplier offers and support subcontractors and installers during production/assembly - Coordinate with manufacturing and site deployment engineering team, site manager, quality control, commissioning engineer, and participate in internal testing and FAT Qualifications Required: - Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of experience) - Fluent in English language - Proficient in Autodesk Inventor, MS Office, and experience with PLM software is desirable Additional Details: Vertiv is an Equal Opportunity Employer and will only employ individuals who are legally authorized to work in the United States.
