Engineer - Electrical

Roles and Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain all electrical equipment including transformers, HT/LT panels, circuit breakers, motors, UPS systems, and lighting systems.
• Ensure safe and reliable power distribution to process units, control systems, utilities, and critical loads.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical systems as per schedule.
• Troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults and breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
• Ensure that electrical maintenance activities are carried out under valid work permits and LOTO procedures.
• Coordinate with shift in-charges and process engineers to attend to power-related issues affecting plant operations.
• Maintain proper records of preventive maintenance, breakdowns, test reports, and equipment history.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and inspections for electrical systems (CEA regulations, CEIG inspections, etc.).
• Conduct regular thermography, insulation resistance tests, and earth pit resistance measurements.
• Assist in energy audits and implement energy-saving initiatives across the plant.
• Support projects related to electrical upgrades, automation, and new installations.
• Supervise electrical contractors and ensure quality workmanship, safety compliance, and adherence to technical specifications.
• Ensure proper functioning and testing of backup systems such as DG sets and UPS systems.
• Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for specialized electrical equipment maintenance and spares procurement.
• Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure adequate stock of critical electrical spares and initiate requisitions as needed.
• Prepare daily and monthly reports on electrical system performance, downtime analysis, and energy consumption trends.
  

Desired Candidate Profile

• 4-8 years of experience in electrical maintenance or a related field.
  
• B.Tech/B.E. (Electrical) degree or Diploma in Electrical from a recognized institution.
  
• Strong knowledge of HT panels, LT panels, transformers, DG sets, C license requirements.
