Job Title: Paint Quality Manager (NACE / BGAS Level-1)Job Summary: The Paint Quality Manager is responsible for leading and managing the quality control and assurance activities in the painting department. This role ensures that all painted Structural products meet the ISO, SSPC standards, company and customer specifications.The Paint Quality Manager develops and implements processes, quality checks, and improvements to enhance painting inspection and reduce paint defects.Key Responsibilities:Must have knowledge in painting systems, surface preparation methods, painting and blasting equipments.Must have knowledge in paint types and various types of paint material and chemical composition.Should always be proactive to ensure and minimise the paint wastage.Must have good knowledge in IS, ISO, SSPC and other paint relevant standards.Must have hands on experience in paint inspection and paint trail.Must have in-depth knowledge in Paint Consumption Calculation and ensure to reduce the paint wastage.Must have knowledge in Root cause analysis(RCA) and provide solutions for all issues related to painting systems.To carryout paint trail and advice suitable method for all New Project at plant and supplier works.Must have knowledge in paint testing method and types.To conduct regular meeting with in-house production team and contractor to ensure paint quality.To maintain the testing equipment list with calibration.Manage and lead the paint quality control team to ensure adherence to quality standards.Develop, implement, monitor quality procedures and systems for the paint quality.Ensure that all paint materials and processes meet customer requirements, industry regulations and environmental compliance.Conduct regular inspections of painted products and surfaces to identify defects, irregularities, and areas for improvement.Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve painting issues, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions.Monitor and analyze quality metrics, identifying trends and making recommendations for continuous improvement.Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the quality of paint materials meets company specifications.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of paint technology, equipment, and quality control methods.Provide training and support to staff on painting techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols.Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, outlining performance and improvement initiatives.Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferred Paint Technology, Quality Control, or related field (or equivalent experience).10+ years of experience in quality control/assurance within the painting industry, preferably PEB or structural industry.Must be a NACE / BGAS Level-1.Strong knowledge of paint types, application methods, and surface preparation techniques.Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong leadership and team management capabilities.Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations related to painting operations.Proficiency in using quality control tools.
