Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Embedded Hardware Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and validating hardware systems used in our medical devices. The ideal candidate should have strong fundamentals in electronics, hands-on experience with PCB design, and a good understanding of embedded systems, sensors, and power electronics. You will work closely with R&D Embedded Software, Mechanical, and production teams to bring high-quality and reliable medical devices to market.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Design & Development

  • Design analog and digital electronic circuits for embedded medical devices.
  • Develop schematics, component selection, and BOM preparation.
  • Design multi-layer PCBs using tools like Altium/Eagle/KiCAD.
  • Optimize circuits for safety, reliability, EMI/EMC compliance.

Prototyping & Testing

  • Build prototypes and perform functional testing, debugging, and validation.
  • Board bring-up activities and troubleshoot component-level issues.
  • Test interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, and wireless modules.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare hardware test reports.
  • Ensure designs meet medical device regulatory standards (IEC 60601 series preferred).
  • Maintain complete technical documentation for regulatory submissions.

Collaboration

  • Work with firmware, mechanical, and quality teams during development.
  • Support production teams during pilot builds and mass manufacturing.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for component evaluation and sourcing.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals (analog, digital, and power).
  • Experience in microcontrollers (NXP, STM32, ESP32, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with PCB design tools (Altium/Eagle/KiCAD).
  • Knowledge of sensors, power supplies, and communication protocols.
  • Ability to use test equipment: DSO, multimeter, LCR, power analyzer.
  • Good debugging skills and problem-solving ability.

Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)

  • Experience in medical device development.
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC design practices and pre-compliance testing.
  • Exposure to embedded firmware basics.
  • Understanding of IEC 60601 / ISO 13485 requirements.
  • Experience in DFX, DFA, DFM activities.

Qualification

  • BE / B.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
