Electromechanical Design Engineer - HVDC

In this role as an Electromechanical Design Engineer at Hitachi Energy, you will have the responsibility of understanding technical requirements for Primary engineering of HVDC converter station, Installation drawings, and detail design of yard materials to ensure the safety of the end equipment and HVDC station as a whole. **Role Overview:** As an Electromechanical Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of HVDC projects under execution. Your main responsibilities will include utilizing advanced CAD/CAM/CAE software, applying design principles for HVDC Substations, providing technical support for installation and commissioning activities, and interacting with customers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality designs within budget and schedule. **Key Responsibilities:** - Demonstrate proficiency in advanced CAD/CAM/CAE software to deliver CAD activities on time and meet quality standards. - Apply design principles and guidelines for Electromechanical design of HVDC Substations and HV/UHV AC Substations. - Perform Substation Layout Design, provide Civil Inputs to civil designer, create Installation drawings, and detail design of connectors and insulators. - Support FAT, installation, and commissioning activities for HVDC projects. - Prepare project documentation, obtain customer approvals for designs and drawings, and ensure adherence to safety standards. - Interact effectively with customers, contractors, and staff to achieve scope of deliveries on time and within budget. - Utilize Project Lifecycle Management (PLM) system with NX and leverage experience in HVDC projects for added benefit. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 2 to 5 years of experience in Design of Primary Layout of Electrical UHV/EHV substation projects. - Proficiency in NX/Teamcenter or Similar 3D tools. - Knowledge in Substation Engineering of UHV/EHV substation projects along with PLM tools. - Experience working with advanced 3D CAD tools. - Strong self-starter with the ability to take ownership of tasks through completion. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
