Electrician (Steel plant)

As an Electrician at the Steel Plant in Ingur (Erode), your role will involve the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in accordance with electrical codes and safety standards. Your responsibilities will include: - Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment such as motors, transformers, switchgear, MCC panels, and wiring. - Performing preventive maintenance and inspections on electrical systems to ensure their optimal functionality. - Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools. - Troubleshooting electrical issues in steel melting shops, rolling mills, furnaces, and other plant machinery. - Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings to carry out electrical tasks effectively. - Ensuring the proper functioning of electrical systems that support heavy machinery and process automation. - Working with PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and SCADA systems to support automation and process control. - Maintaining documentation of work performed, including maintenance logs and equipment histories. - Following all plant safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and work permit systems to maintain a safe working environment. - Assisting in electrical system upgrades, retrofits, and new equipment installations. Qualifications required for this position include: - ITI/Diploma in Electrical Engineering/ BE.EEE - Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a steel plant or heavy industrial environment.
