Job Title: Electrical Cost-Out Engineer (VAVE Specialist) Location: Pune Experience Required: 38 Years Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Job Type: Contract Job Summary: We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Cost-Out Engineer with a strong foundation in electrical components, supplier qualifications, and value analysis/value engineering (VAVE) . The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying cost-out opportunities in electrical systems, analyzing components, collaborating with suppliers, and contributing to the optimization of bill of materials (BOM) without compromising technical performance or quality. Key Responsibilities: Analyze electrical component specifications and identify drop-in replacements to optimize cost and performance. Conduct VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) efforts focused on electrical systems and components. Identify gaps and develop cost-out proposals for electrical components and assemblies. Perform component testing , electrical box builds, and support validation activities. Work closely with the sourcing and design teams to qualify suppliers for technical compliance. Analyze datasheets, extract technical details, and generate detailed engineering reports. Manage electrical BOMs and perform spend data analysis to identify high-cost drivers and cost-reduction opportunities. Prepare comprehensive documentation for supplier qualifications and test outcomes. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sourcing, and quality teams. Ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety requirements. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. 3–8 years of relevant experience in electrical components engineering and supplier qualification. Strong experience in component analysis , datasheet evaluation , and drop-in replacement identification . Hands-on experience in testing electrical components and assembling electrical box builds. Proficiency in managing electrical BOMs , conducting cost/spend analysis , and generating technical reports. In-depth knowledge of electrical cost-out methods , particularly VAVE techniques. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills to work across engineering, procurement, and supplier teams. Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have): Exposure to product life cycle management (PLM) tools. Experience in supplier interaction or audits . Prior work on low-voltage/high-voltage systems is a plus.
