Job Description

We are looking for a qualified and experienced EHS & Safety Officer to manage and implement Environment, Health & Safety systems at our plastic granule manufacturing unit. The role involves ensuring statutory compliance, workplace safety, environmental management, and continuous improvement of EHS performance.

Key Responsibilities

Environment (E):

• Ensure compliance with TNPCB / SPCB, MoEF&CC, and other environmental regulations
• Manage Air, Water, Hazardous Waste, Plastic Waste & E-waste compliances
• Monitor ETP/STP operations, emissions, effluent quality, and waste disposal
• Maintain environmental records, returns, and online portal submissions
• Support ISO 14001 implementation, audits, and continuous improvement
• Handle environmental inspections, audits, and closure of non-conformities

Health & Safety (HS):

• Implement and maintain ISO 45001 / OHSAS safety management systems
• Conduct risk assessments, HIRA, JSA, and safety audits
• Ensure safe operation of grinders, extruders, shredders, washing lines, boilers, forklifts, and utilities
• Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, mock drills, and emergency preparedness programs
• Investigate accidents, near misses, and implement corrective & preventive actions
• Ensure PPE compliance and workplace ergonomics

Statutory & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with Factories Act, ESI, Fire & Safety, Explosives, Boilers, PESO (if applicable)
• Liaise with government departments (Factory Inspectorate, Fire Department, PCB, Labour Dept.)
• Maintain statutory registers, permits, and licenses
• Support customer audits, ESG audits, and certification audits

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree/Diploma in Environmental Engineering / Safety Engineering / Mechanical / Chemical
• ADIS / NEBOSH / IOSH certification preferred
• 5–10 years of EHS experience in plastic granule manufacturing, recycling, polymer, or process industry
• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, RecyClass, REACH (preferred)
• Hands-on experience in factory-level safety and environmental compliance

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of plastic processing & recycling hazards
• Excellent documentation and audit handling skills
• Ability to train shop-floor and contract workforce
• Proactive safety mindset with problem-solving ability
• Good communication and coordination with internal & external stakeholders

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,209.46 - ₹40,000.00 per month
