Description
As an experienced Edge OpenShift Engineer at our organization, you will be responsible for managing container platforms at Ford's Edge (on-premise) locations, focusing on OpenShift Virtualization (OSV). Your role will involve tasks such as cluster buildout, tenant provisioning, isolation, capacity management, and infrastructure automation. Key Responsibilities: - Build, manage, and support OpenShift Container Platform and OSV clusters at Edge locations. - Automate cluster provisioning and capacity management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. - Develop and maintain automation scripts primarily using Python, Ansible, and Terraform. - Assist in platform lifecycle activities such as installation, upgrades, patching, and monitoring. - Provide L2 engineering support, including root cause analysis and unit testing. - Collaborate with the team to maintain system documentation, playbooks, and runbooks. - Support change management related to OpenShift platform upgrades, hotfixes, and sysadmin tasks. Required Skills: - Hands-on experience with OpenShift Platform & OSV, Infrastructure Automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform), and CI/CD Pipeline Tools (Tekton). - Strong understanding of containerization and virtualization concepts. - Experience in cluster capacity management and container tenant provisioning. Preferred Experience: - Network and storage configuration for OpenShift clusters. - Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, RHACM, Splunk. - Prior experience providing L2 engineering support. Experience: - Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in OpenShift cluster build and administration. - Proven hands-on experience with IaC script development.
