Job Title: Duty Medical Officer (DMO) Department: Clinical Services / Emergency Department / ICU (as applicable) Location: CURI Hospital Chennai - 96 Reports To: Medical Director/ Director of medical service (DMS) Job Summary: The Duty Medical Officer (DMO) is responsible for providing round-the-clock medical care and emergency response services to inpatients and outpatients. The DMO ensures prompt clinical decisions, stabilizes patients, and coordinates with senior doctors and consultants for further care. This role is vital to maintaining continuous and quality patient care during assigned shifts. Key Responsibilities: Attend to patients in the emergency room, wards, ICU, and other units as per hospital protocols. Provide initial assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients and escalate critical cases. Monitor the condition of admitted patients and update senior consultants as needed. Perform routine procedures like IV insertion, catheterization, Ryle’s tube insertion, suturing, etc. Ensure all medical records, notes, and prescriptions are accurately maintained. Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring smooth workflow during shifts. Respond promptly to codes (e.g., Code Blue) and manage medical emergencies. Communicate effectively with patients’ families regarding treatment plans and updates. Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and hospital policies. Assist during rounds and surgical procedures when required. Qualifications: MBBS from a recognized institution with valid registration (MCI / State Medical Council) BLS / ACLS certification preferred 0–3 years of experience in a hospital setting (freshers with strong clinical knowledge may also apply) Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical and decision-making skills Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and handle emergencies Empathy and commitment to patient care Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and hospital management systems Working Conditions: Rotational shifts including night duties, weekends, and holidays High-pressure environment with exposure to emergency and critical care cases Requirement to wear PPE and adhere to infection control protocols Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From ₹45,000.00 per month Benefits: Health insurance Provident Fund Schedule: Day shift Rotational shift Supplemental Pay: Performance bonus Yearly bonus Work Location: In person Expected Start Date: 20/06/2025
