Duct Cleaning Technician

A duct cleaning technician is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and inspecting air ducts in residential, commercial, and industrial properties. This involves removing dust, dirt, debris, mold, and other contaminants from the ductwork to improve air quality, energy efficiency, and the overall performance of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems. Key Responsibilities: - Perform cleaning and sanitizing of air ducts, vents, and HVAC systems. - Inspect and evaluate HVAC systems to identify areas needing maintenance or cleaning. - Utilize specialized equipment such as vacuums, brushes, air whips, and air compressors to remove dirt, debris, and other contaminants from ducts. - Ensure proper functioning of air ducts by checking for leaks, obstructions, or any potential damage. - Seal or repair air ducts when necessary, including replacing filters or components of the HVAC system. - Provide detailed reports on the condition of air ducts and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance. - Communicate with customers about the process, expected outcomes, and any issues discovered during the inspection. - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. - Maintain cleaning equipment, ensuring it's in good working condition and properly calibrated. - Wear protective gear, including gloves, masks, and safety goggles, during the cleaning process. - Manage time effectively to complete jobs within the allocated timeframe. Skills and Qualifications: - Experience with duct cleaning equipment and tools is preferred but not required (on-the-job training may be provided). - Strong attention to detail and ability to perform thorough inspections and cleaning. - Good physical stamina as the job involves working in tight spaces, lifting heavy objects, and using specialized equipment. - Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and explain services. - Knowledge of HVAC systems, air quality standards, and safety regulations is a plus. - Ability to work independently or as part of a team. - Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and handle long hours.
