Job Description

Role Overview: As a Design Release Engineer for Driveline, your primary responsibility will be to translate customer requirements into detailed product specifications, ensuring that all designs meet driveline industry standards and best practices. You will lead cross-functional teams, maintain comprehensive documentation, and prioritize safety, quality, and performance of the product. Your role will involve developing DFMEA, ADVP&R, and coaching the team for successful product releases. Key Responsibilities: - Translate customer requirements into detailed product requirements and specifications. - Design and develop driveline products adhering to industry best practices. - Ensure designs meet DFX requirements such as DFA and DFM. - Conduct stakeholder meetings with clear agendas and maintain detailed meeting minutes. - Develop and maintain DFMEA for all released products. - Prioritize product safety and promptly escalate any risks. - Lead cross-functional teams to achieve quality product releases. - Maintain a systematic and methodical approach to the design and development process. - Provide training and coaching to team members regarding the product. - Develop ADVP&R for the product. - Apply knowledge of OBJ and IBJ design and their application differences. - Utilize in-depth knowledge of boots, axles, and splines in product design. - Use sizing tools for strength and durability predictions. - Conduct thorough analysis of field failures and implement corrective measures. - Witness and understand various tests at component and vehicle levels. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Mechatronics. - 5-10 years of relevant experience in driveline design, development, and release. - Experience in field failure analysis and strong problem-solving capabilities. - OBJ and IBJ design expertise with knowledge of their application differences. - Strong understanding of boots, axles, splines, and their application in driveline systems. - Proficiency in using sizing tools for strength and durability predictions. - Ability to conduct thorough field failure analysis and devise appropriate solutions. - Proven leadership skills in managing cross-functional teams. - Strong documentation and communication skills, particularly in reporting and stakeholder meetings. - In-depth understanding of DFX, including DFA and DFM.
