Position Title Mechanical Architect / Mechanical Lead Purpose of Function The Mechanical Architect / Mechanical Lead‘s, primary function is the end-to-end design & development of GMS, WPI, Value Anesthesia systems, subsystems, and similar healthcare products. Production Engineer – Dräger India Initial location: Vasai | Future location: Pune Are you ready to make a difference in saving lives through technology that matters? Dräger, a global leader in medical and safety technology, is looking for a Production Engineer to join our India team. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative medical devices , ensuring world-class manufacturing standards and continuous process improvement. Key Responsibilities Execute production activities in SAP – creating and managing production orders, planning, execution, and coordinating with material planning and incoming inspection teams. Review customer inputs / TDS for product configurations and ensure compliance through in-process and final QA inspections. Provide technical support to design teams on DFM and SAP processes during design transfer. Manage and maintain validation/calibration of jigs, fixtures, and equipment. Coordinate technical changes during Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). Actively participate in PFMEA activities and drive risk mitigation initiatives. Identify and lead process improvement projects using 7QC tools, Lean, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM). Represent production in NCR/CAPA investigations , root cause analysis, and corrective action planning. Ensure compliance with ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 , and other safety/environmental policies. Support process optimization, validation, and production resource planning . Participate in internal and external audits (ISO 13485, ISO 9001) as auditee/auditor. Monitor and report production KPIs to management. Must-Have Skills Background in Production / Manufacturing (preferably in Medical Devices). Experience with mass production and SAP-based production processes. Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards. Proficiency in statistical analysis (validation, production output, cycle time). Excellent communication skills in English. Active experience in PFMEA , process optimization, and validation. Good-to-Have Skills Experience in Value Stream Mapping (VSM) , Lean manufacturing, or Kaizen. Familiarity with EMI/EMC , CE , Biocompatibility , and ESD requirements. Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems. Education Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical / Production Engineering Industry Experience 8 - 9 years Prior experience in the Medical Device industry is essential.
