Job Description

DMS is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective management of all healthcare facilities in the district. This includes supervision of medical staff, hospital administration, clinical governance, and coordination with government health programs to ensure quality healthcare delivery. Key Responsibilities: Administrative Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of district hospitals and associated healthcare centers Ensure compliance with government regulations, protocols, and public health standards Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and supply chain management for hospital operations Clinical Governance: Monitor quality of patient care and clinical practices Implement and audit standard treatment protocols Coordinate with specialty departments to maintain clinical efficiency Staff Management & HR: Supervise and evaluate performance of doctors, nurses, and allied health staff Facilitate training, recruitment, and deployment of healthcare personnel Address grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary matters as per policy Public Health Coordination: Collaborate with local health authorities to implement national/state health programs Respond to outbreaks, emergencies, and public health crises Lead initiatives related to immunization, disease prevention, and maternal-child health Reporting & Compliance: Submit regular reports to higher authorities on hospital performance, morbidity, mortality, and other KPIs Ensure adherence to NABH/NABL or other accreditation standards, if applicable Maintain statutory records and documentation Qualifications & Experience: Education: MBBS or BDS Experience: Minimum 10 years in healthcare management, with at least 35 years in a supervisory/administrative role Knowledge of public health systems, hospital operations, and clinical protocols Familiarity with state/national health schemes and regulatory frameworks Key Skills: Strong leadership and organizational abilities Excellent communication and interdepartmental coordination Problem-solving and crisis management skills Proficiency in MS Office and health information systems
