Director Quality Engineering

Your Impact:

• Lead & Inspire:

  Mentor and manage engineering managers and senior technical leaders focused on delivering world-class storage and networking solutions. Champion an innovation-driven culture that prioritizes enterprise-grade reliability, speed, and scalability.

• Drive Protocol Innovation:

  Shape the quality engineering practices for advanced network and storage protocols, including NFS, SMB, NVMe-oF, S3, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, ROCE, and cloud integrations, ensuring our platforms meet stringent performance and compliance standards.

• Bridge Product & Engineering:

  Partner closely with Product Management, FlashArray, and FlashBlade engineering teams to launch feature-rich, resilient storage products that exceed customer expectations for data protection, access, and performance.

• Scale with Growth:

  Navigate scaling challenges in a dynamic environment, balancing short and long-term goals to keep pace with evolving enterprise data demands in cloud, hybrid, and on-premises settings.

• Own Quality Strategy:

  Define and execute a forward-looking quality roadmap prioritizing automation, security, and seamless interoperability in storage and networking products. Leverage global R&D experience and local insights to build robust cross-functional teams.

• Enable Automation @ Scale:

  Champion a Automation First approach in all testing practices. Advance CI/CD, test-driven development, and intelligent test coverage for storage and protocol features, driving developer velocity and release cadence.

• Advance Shift-Left Testing:

  Continuously challenge the status quo by refining processes, driving shift left test strategies, and introducing tooling that proactively catches issues early across SDLC.

• Measure Success:

  Develop and track engineering quality metrics that reflect product health, velocity, and customer satisfaction. Foster transparency with stakeholders and provide clarity on priorities and delivery commitments.

• Empower Growth:

  Identify skill development opportunities around emerging networking and storage standards, performance engineering, data security, and cloud-native technologies. Invest in your teams technical growth and leadership journeys.

• Collaborate & Communicate:

  Maintain impactful communication with both internal and external partners, aligning expectations, project goals, and delivering visibility for enterprise-class products on the roadmap.

Ideal Profile:

• 15+ years experience in enterprise products, with deep expertise in storage and network protocol development, integration, and quality engineering.
• 8+ years leadership experience, including at least 2 years of second-level management in high-growth, agile organizations.
• Proven success delivering enterprise storage solutions with modern protocols (NFS, SMB, NVMe-oF, S3, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, ROCE).
• Strong technical leadership in file systems, Linux kernel storage, drivers, cloud and hybrid architectures.
• Experience architecting automation frameworks and tools for developer and release efficiency in storage and networking.
• Hands-on passion for building, improving, and innovating always looking to move the needle on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Mastery of test automation, TDD, CI/CD integration, and agile/Scrum methodologies in storage and networking contexts.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to guide teams through complex system software, networking, security, and application challenges.
• Outstanding communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Bachelors or higher in Computer Science or related field.
