Director of Engineering

You will be responsible for leading development teams specializing in the latest web, mobile, and cloud technologies as the Director of Engineering and Delivery at TechBlocks. You will report to the CTO and collaborate with global delivery teams in Canada and India. Your key responsibilities will include: - Leading complex design sessions and collaborating with customers and business partners to establish requirements for developing solutions. - Identifying potential solution options and evaluating them for technical and business suitability. - Providing expertise to customers in developing digital solutions to meet business needs. - Supporting solution delivery by assisting programmers and providing guidance on testing concepts. - Making key decisions on platform selection for application development requests and ensuring code quality assurance. - Developing processes to organize workflow for output quality, precision, and timeliness. - Handling multiple demands and priorities while meeting deliverables. - Providing technical mentoring, architecture validation, and support to team members. - Collaborating with HR and Recruitment teams for talent acquisition, career planning, and retention. - Demonstrating strong experience in Agile development practices. You are expected to: - Take a strategic and analytical approach to system and application design based on business requirements analysis. - Manage projects end-to-end, including vendor evaluation, budgeting, and resource allocation. - Continuously seek opportunities to optimize technical performance and make data-driven decisions. - Guide and inspire team members to enhance individual and group performance. - Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders. - Research the competitive landscape to create differentiated digital solutions. Qualifications required for this role include: - Graduate in Engineering discipline, MS, MBA preferred. - 15+ years of relevant experience. - Expertise in Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP public cloud. - Hands-on experience with Microsoft.NET, open-source stack, and leading-edge UI and JavaScript frameworks.
