Director of Engineering and Site Lead

Role Overview: As the Director of Engineering & Site Leader at this leading Product company, you will be responsible for leading and scaling the Hub in Bangalore, which serves as the centerpiece of global software development. Your main focus will be on software engineering leadership, guiding a growing team of developers and technology experts in alignment with the Technology Leadership Team. Additionally, you will oversee a smaller shared services team, mainly focused on financial services. Key Responsibilities: - Lead & Scale the Hub: Build and expand the software engineering and technology team to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions within the global access solutions framework. - Engineering Leadership: Shape the technical direction as part of the Technology Leadership Team, act as a sparring partner for product and development leaders globally, and drive agile, DevOps, and quality practices. - General Management: Oversee financial planning, compliance, and reporting for the Bangalore entity. Ensure smooth integration of local support and shared service functions into global workflows. - Talent & Culture: Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent in India. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. - Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the key interface to global leadership, bridging the gap between India and the wider network. Qualifications Required: - Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - Proven leadership experience in software development/engineering, preferably in an international tech environment. - Strong understanding of agile development, DevOps, and quality assurance. - General management skills including financial oversight, compliance, and cross-functional leadership. - Intercultural leadership experience, ideally managing teams across Europe and India. - Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of German is a plus but not mandatory. - Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to scale an international hub.
