Role PurposeThe Director Logistics will lead Purplle's end-to-end logistics operations across India, covering both B2B and B2C movements. The role is responsible for ensuring speed, reliability, cost efficiency, and sustainability in all product movements from factories tocustomers. This leader will build a strategic logistics partner ecosystem, drive operational excellence, and enable future-ready models such as Quick Commerce from dark stores.Key Responsibilities? Lead and manage all B2B and B2C logistics operations across the network.? Build a diversified and scalable logistics partner network balancing cost, service, and risk by avoiding over-reliance on any single partner.? Define and implement the logistics partner strategy that delivers optimal businessoutcomes in terms of cost, speed, and flexibility.? Engage with CXO-level stakeholders (COO/CEO) at logistics partner organizations to align strategic priorities, drive escalations, and secure strong delivery performance.? Provide strategic input and operational leadership for Quick Commerce delivery models, including dark stores and express delivery networks.? Lead B2B and B2C logistics team to ensure consistent and high-performance logistics across all legs from factory to warehouse, warehouse to store, and warehouse to customer.? Drive automation and digitization in logistics through advanced TMS/WMS integrations, route optimization, digital PODs, and EV-based sustainable delivery.? Collaborate with Inventory, Warehousing, and Demand Planning teams to ensure synchronized dispatch planning, proactive problem-solving, and smooth inter-function coordination.? Oversee freight billing accuracy, logistics cost control, and data transparency through strong governance processes.? Establish a review rhythm (daily / weekly / monthly) to monitor KPIs, analyze trends, and drive continuous improvement across logistics partners.
Key KPIs to Manage
? Speed of Delivery Maintain optimal lead times across B2B and B2C shipments.? Reliability of TAT Ensure adherence to committed Estimated Delivery Dates (EDD) with minimal breaches.? Cost of Delivery Drive reduction in logistics cost per shipment / per kg through optimization and process improvement.? Claims Management Minimize claims and losses due to damages, missing, or delayed shipments through rigorous control systems.

? Stakeholder Management: Build trusted relationships and manage escalations with senior executives (COO/CEO level) at logistics partner organizations. Influence decision-making and performance outcomes through strong partnership governance.? Strategic Partner Development: Define and implement a long-term logistics partner strategy ensuring balanced reliance across partners and promoting capability building. Foster competition, innovation, and resilience across logistics partners to achieve business agility.? Operational Excellence: Manage daily operational performance through robust KPI governance and structured reviews. Ensure speed, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in all logistics operations while embedding continuous improvement.? Quick Commerce Enablement: Provide strategic input for developing and scaling quick commerce logistics from dark stores or express distribution points to meetevolving consumer delivery expectations.
Experience & Skills Required
? 10+ years of experience in logistics leadership roles within E-commerce, FMCG, or Omni-channel environments.? Proven ability to manage complex 3PL networks, high-volume B2C & B2B operations, and cost-to-serve optimization.? Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills at senior levels.? Deep understanding of logistics tech systems (TMS/WMS), network design, and last-mile operations.? Ability to balance strategic vision and hands-on operational execution.? Excellent communication, analytical, and people leadership skills.
