Director, Head of Hedge Accounting Control & Solutions

As the Head - Hedge Accounting Control & Solution at Standard Chartered Bank, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the end-to-end product & valuation control functions within the Global Business Services (GBS). You will lead strategic initiatives for Treasury including Hedge Accounting Control & Solutions, working closely with various stakeholders to enhance the Bank's hedge accounting capabilities and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Your key responsibilities will include spearheading the design and implementation of hedge accounting strategies, identifying hedgeable exposures, and conducting Proof-of-Concept initiatives for new hedge strategies. You will collaborate with Technical Accounting, Group Reporting, and Product Control to build valuation models for hedged risks and drive system enhancements related to hedge accounting functionality. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the Hedge accounting control & solutions team, providing ongoing training and development, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Your role will also involve preparing technical hedge accounting papers, managing financial projects, and identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with 10-15 years of experience in finance or accounting functions. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA, CFA) is preferred. You should possess deep technical knowledge of hedge accounting frameworks, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across business, finance, and technical teams.
