Role Overview SEO, paid performance marketing, marketplace advertising, and store-linked digital campaigns are executed by external agencies. The Digital Marketing Executive acts as the internal SEO and performance authority, capable of evaluating execution quality at a granular level, identifying implementation gaps, and providing clear, actionable, execution-ready direction to agencies. This role is designed for a digitally strong, analytically driven marketer with deep, execution-level expertise in SEO, including hands-on understanding of technical, on-page, content, and local SEO implementation. It is suited for someone who enjoys analysing performance, diagnosing root causes, and improving results. The role owns performance analysis across the brands website, online marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Ajio, Zivame, etc.), physical storelinked digital initiatives, and owned CRM channels. It is more about driving growth through deep SEO knowledge, sharp performance insight from performance marketing, and accountability, making it ideal for an early- to mid-career marketer building strong subject-matter depth with real business impact. Requires a solid foundation in digital marketing with a clear inclination towards SEO, including understanding beyond theory and intent to build execution-level expertise.
Strong, hands-on capability in SEO across technical, on-page, content, and local SEO, with the ability to evaluate work at an implementation and diagnostic level, not just through reports.
Advanced understanding of performance marketing metrics across Google Ads, Meta Ads, and marketplace platforms.
Full working familiarity with Google Analytics, Search Console, performance dashboards, Shopify, and major marketplace seller platforms and ad portals.
Experience working with or guiding digital marketing agencies or e-commerce brands, with the confidence to review, question, and challenge outputs constructively.
Strong analytical skills with high comfort in Excel / Google Sheets and data-driven decision-making.
Candidates with 1–3 years of experience in digital marketing or e-commerce will be preferred. Salary will be aligned to the candidate’s current skill level, strengths, and hands-on experience Key Responsibilities
Own revenue and performance outcomes across Google Ads (Search, Shopping, Local) and Meta Ads, with execution managed by external agencies. Analyse spend efficiency, revenue contribution, ROAS, CAC, marginal returns, CTR, CVR, funnel performance, and traffic quality to diagnose underperformance and identify scalable growth opportunities.
Review agency dashboards and periodic reports, provide clear, data-backed direction on account structure, bidding strategy, budget allocation, pacing, and optimisation levers, and ensure paid media is aligned to revenue targets and profitable growth, not just traffic. Maintain sufficient working knowledge to set up and optimise campaigns independently if required.
Evaluate how SEO is executed, not just final metrics. Own the end-to-end SEO framework across: Technical SEO (site architecture, crawlability, indexing, page speed) On-page SEO (keyword intent, metadata, internal linking) Content SEO (category, product, and editorial optimisation) Local SEO (store visibility and Google listings)
Analyse ranking movements, traffic quality, conversion contribution, and revenue impact to identify root causes behind performance shifts and implementation gaps. Translate insights into clear, execution-level directives for SEO agencies, while maintaining strong hands-on knowledge to step into execution when required.
Support performance tracking for digital campaigns across 20+ physical stores, executed by external agencies. Review agency reports covering store-level campaign performance and local search visibility and engagement.
Monitor Google My Business performance, including listing accuracy, hygiene, visibility, and engagement trends, and coordinate with agencies and internal teams to share feedback and align store-level initiatives with promotions and campaigns.
Own performance measurement across Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Ajio, Zivame, and similar platforms. Amazon Ads are managed by agencies, while the role should be able to handle a limited subset of other marketplace campaigns at an executional level.
Evaluate visibility, conversion efficiency, ad profitability, and category-level performance, and ensure alignment between marketplace ads, pricing, inventory, and SEO content.
Work closely with in-house social media and influencer teams handling content and creator execution. Coordinate with external agencies for paid amplification, boosting, budget allocation, and spend tracking.
Ensure campaigns align with ongoing promotions, product launches, and sale calendars, and track engagement metrics, traffic contribution, and assisted conversions, sharing insights to support future planning.
Execute and manage CRM initiatives across WhatsApp marketing, automation flows, email campaigns, and SMS communication. Monitor and optimise abandoned cart, browse journeys, repeat purchase, and lifecycle campaigns.
Develop a strong understanding of product categories, pricing, customer segments, buying behaviour, brand USP, and positioning. Support accurate audience targeting across paid, organic, CRM, and social channel while tracking key metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.
Maintain daily and weekly performance trackers, monthly summary reports, and planning, budgeting, and output analysis. Identify trends, risks, and improvement areas, and support senior stakeholders with data-backed inputs for reviews and decisions.
