Job Description

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel engine mechanics, electrical systems, and hydraulics. Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. Diagnostic Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and interpreting test results. Manual Dexterity: Ability to work with hand tools and perform precise repairs. Communication: Effective communication skills to explain issues and collaborate with others. Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks. Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required, with trade school certification or vocational training often preferred, according to the National Network for the Transportation Workforce. Experience: 2-5 years of experience is often required, with education potentially substituting for experience in some cases. Certifications: Professional certifications like ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) may be preferred. Driver's License: A valid driver's license is generally required, and a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be necessary for certain roles.
