Role Overview:

We are seeking Deputy General Manager / General Manager Design (India) to take on a senior design role with direct ownership of marquee projects. Unlike traditional leadership positions, this role will be largely individual-contributor in nature with minimal team management.

The focus will be on hands-on design conceptualization, client engagement, and project delivery excellence, while collaborating closely with business development, project management, and execution teams. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in commercial interiors, a proven portfolio of workplace projects, and the ability to independently lead design mandates end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Execution & Delivery

Independently handle design mandates for large-scale commercial interior projects.

• Develop space plans, layouts, and design concepts aligned with client needs and brand ethos.
• Create and deliver design presentations, mood boards, and visualization outputs.
• Ensure high design quality, functionality, and innovation in all deliverables.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Work directly with clients, including CXOs and senior leadership, to understand requirements and present design solutions.

• Collaborate with business development teams during pitches to provide strong design-led perspectives.

Collaboration & Support

Partner with execution, procurement, and estimation teams to ensure seamless translation of design intent into delivery.

• Utilize Flipspaces proprietary VR technology to enhance design visualization and client experience.
• Support the AVP Design and leadership team in driving design excellence and maintaining brand standards.

Strategic Contribution

• Keep abreast of workplace design trends, sustainability practices, and emerging tools.
• Contribute to design innovation and the evolution of Flipspaces design processes.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
• 812 years of professional experience in commercial/workplace interior design.
• Strong portfolio of independently handled large-scale corporate/commercial projects.
• Excellent design software proficiency (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, VR tools preferred).
• Strong communication, presentation, and client interaction skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, balancing creativity with practical execution.

Preferred Attributes

• Prior experience with leading design or design-build firms.
• Familiarity with sustainability and green building certifications (LEED, WELL, IGBC).
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
