Job Description

Role Overview: As a GCP-qualified cloud engineer for a large global investment bank, your primary responsibility will be to assist with the FIC (fixed income and currencies) cloud migrations under Project Cirrus. You will be involved in developing cloud-based compliance archive products to archive and retain real-time communications data in compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements. The product is developed in-house in an agile development setup based on business requirements from multiple stakeholder parties. The team aims to transition from project to product management to provide robust compliance archive solutions for the next decade. Your role will involve close collaboration with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications. Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines on GCP. - Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using tools like Terraform and Ansible. - Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters for high availability and scalability. - Containerize applications using Docker and manage container orchestration. - Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability and security. - Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems. - Implement and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions. - Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in DevOps and cloud technologies. Qualifications Required: - 6 to 9 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in GCP. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Strong expertise in Kubernetes and Docker. - Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible. - Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go. - Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI. - Knowledge of networking, security, and database management. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Additional Details: You should have good written and spoken English skills as you will be expected to assist with knowledge transfer to existing development and support teams. It is preferred to have knowledge of Financial Services/FIC, but the primary focus is on building, migrating, and deploying applications to GCP, along with expertise in cloud-native services such as GCE, GKE, CloudSQL/Postgres, logging, and monitoring.
