Job Description

The role involves migrating pipelines from Jenkins to GitLab CI/CD with the aim of minimizing disruption to development workflows. You will be responsible for analyzing and converting Jenkins Groovy scripts into GitLab YAML pipelines, utilizing Python for scripting when necessary. Additionally, you will optimize and maintain GitLab runners, configurations, and repository structures. Collaborating closely with development teams is crucial to ensure the smooth adoption of GitLab CI/CD pipelines. In case of any issues, you will troubleshoot and resolve CI/CD failures, pipeline inefficiencies, and integration challenges. It is essential to implement GitLab security best practices, including code scanning, access controls, and compliance checks. Monitoring pipeline performance and enhancing build, test, and deployment efficiency will be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, supporting containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes is also a key aspect of this role. To excel in this position, you should have at least 3-5 years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD, and automation. Proficiency in Jenkins (including Groovy scripting) and GitLab CI/CD is essential. Strong knowledge of Python for scripting and automation is required. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation is preferred. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration is a plus. Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure is highly beneficial. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team are necessary for success in this role. Possessing certifications in GitLab, AWS/Azure, and Kubernetes would be advantageous.
