Our team is looking for a hardworking and adaptable AI/GenAI Lead software Engineer. A technical leader with AI/GenAI and data domain expertise, a growth mind-set, and a dedication to leading change. As AI/GenAI Lead software Engineer for the Lab, you will realise value for customers and stakeholders by ensuring that teams are working on the right priorities, achieved by fostering collaborative, empowered teams and nurturing them to take ownership of the relevant outcomes. We want our AI/GenAI Lead software Engineer to stimulate innovation whilst mitigating risk. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and maintenance of applications using Python and work together with your product owner counterpart in a 'two-in-a-box' model to jointly lead the Engineering team providing a great value proposition to your stakeholders from across the company. Design and manage SQL/NoSQL databases for efficient data handling and retrieval. Utilize Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions for application development. Implement and oversee CI/CD pipelines and automation using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Harness, and manage infrastructure with Terraform and Kubernetes. Monitor and troubleshoot application performance using GCP tools like Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Trace. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, implement, and test new features. Integrate APIs into applications, understand API documentation, authentication mechanisms, and handle API responses. Ensure the reliability and performance of applications through quality engineering practices, including test automation, performance testing, and continuous integration. Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and support. Key Skills and Qualifications: Strong foundation in software engineering principles. Proficiency in Python for backend processing and application development, including scripting, automation, and data analysis. Extensive experience with GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub. Familiarity with Kubernetes (GKE) and terraform for infrastructure management. Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Harness). Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly. Understanding of AI and ML models, including fine-tuning and API integration, for developing and deploying scalable applications. Proven experience in leading and mentoring junior engineers.
