Job Description

Job Summary

The DevOps Engineer (GCP Focused) is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and monitoring solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The role supports application development teams by ensuring high availability, scalability, and secure operation of cloud-native environments.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure (GCP)

Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on GCP.
Configure and manage GCP services such as Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, VPC, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, etc.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Deployment Manager.

CI/CD & Automation

Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD.
Automate deployment, configuration, and scaling using scripts (Python, Bash, YAML).
Integrate automated testing and security checks into deployment pipelines.

Monitoring, Logging & Reliability

Implement monitoring and alerting using Google Cloud Operations Suite (Stackdriver), Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools.
Ensure system reliability, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis for incidents.
Support SRE activities to improve SLAs, SLOs, and error budgets.

Security & Compliance

Ensure cloud security best practices for identity, access, secrets, network, and workload management.
Implement vulnerability scanning, patching, and compliance controls.
Support IAM policy creation, service accounts, and least-privilege governance.

Collaboration & Support

Partner with development, QA, SRE, and architecture teams for seamless deployments.
Provide Level 2/3 support for cloud infrastructure, pipelines, and operational issues.
Participate in on-call rotation when required.
