DevOps Automation Engineer

As an Automation Engineer with 5 to 9 years of experience, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions to enhance system reliability, reduce operational toil, and minimize risks. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around collaborating with application support and SRE teams to identify automation opportunities and create scalable solutions using various technologies. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Script & Tool Development:** Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts and playbooks using Python and Ansible to automate routine system maintenance, deployment, and operational tasks. - **CI/CD Pipeline Integration:** Build and manage CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) to treat automation scripts as software assets, ensuring rigorous testing, version control, and automated deployment. - **Telemetry & Monitoring Integration:** Integrate automation solutions with telemetry and monitoring platforms like Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk, Data Dog, and Prometheus for proactive automation and automated incident response workflows. - **Infrastructure Automation:** Collaborate with infrastructure teams to automate server, network, and cloud resource provisioning and configuration for consistent and reproducible environments. - **Toil Reduction & Process Improvement:** Identify manual processes, quantify them, and develop automation solutions to reduce operational effort. - **Configuration Drift Detection & Remediation:** Implement automated solutions to detect and remediate configuration drift across cloud and on-prem environments to ensure consistency and compliance. - **Documentation & Best Practices:** Create comprehensive documentation for all automation solutions and enforce software engineering best practices. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field. - 5-9 years of overall experience. - Strong experience in DevOps, SRE, or Application/System Operations. - Proficient in Python scripting. - Familiarity with Ansible for configuration management. - Experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab, Azure DevOps, Harness. - Proficient in API integration and developing RESTful APIs. - Ability to troubleshoot complex issues systematically. - Knowledge of monitoring & telemetry tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana. - Understanding of observability concepts and OpenTelemetry. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Familiar with Network architecture and network diagrams. - Experience with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes. - Knowledge of database systems such as SQL and NoSQL. - Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure. - Experience with ML frameworks like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch for IT operations.,
