DevOps Automation Engineer

Role Overview: As an Automation Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and implement automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency, improve system reliability, and mitigate risks. You will collaborate closely with application support and SRE teams to identify automation opportunities and create scalable solutions using various tools and technologies. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts and playbooks using languages like Python and Ansible to automate routine system maintenance, deployment, and operational tasks. - Build and manage CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) to ensure automation scripts are treated as first-class software assets, including rigorous testing, version control, and automated deployment. - Integrate automation solutions with existing telemetry and monitoring platforms (e.g., Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk, Data Dog, Prometheus) to enable proactive automation and create automated incident response workflows. - Collaborate with infrastructure teams to automate server, network, and cloud resource provisioning and configuration for consistent and reproducible environments. - Identify manual processes, quantify operational effort, and develop targeted automation solutions to reduce toil. - Implement automated solutions to detect and remediate configuration drift across cloud and on-prem environments, ensuring consistency and compliance with baseline configurations. - Create comprehensive documentation for all automation solutions and enforce software engineering best practices. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field. - 5-9 years of overall experience in a hands-on role in DevOps, SRE, or Application/System Operations. - Strong programming skills in Python scripting. - Proficiency with Ansible for configuration management. - Extensive experience with CI/CD tools and concepts, preferably GitLab, Azure DevOps, Harness. - Experience with API integration and developing RESTful APIs. - Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and solve problems systematically. - Familiarity with monitoring & telemetry tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, Moogsoft, Prometheus, Grafana. - Experience with Synthetic Monitoring and API Monitoring tools. - Strong understanding of observability concepts and OpenTelemetry. - Proficiency in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and network architecture. - Capability to adapt to changing business priorities, multitask, and generate reports. - Knowledge of event correlation, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics. - Familiarity with containerization technologies, database systems, cloud platforms, LLM-based automation, and ML frameworks for IT operations.,
