Development Manager

As a Senior Java / Python Engineer at London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) Bengaluru office, you will be part of the Index team responsible for the development of a new Index platform for FTSE-Russell Index Business. Your role will involve collaborating with a team of developers to implement solutions supporting the strategic growth of the Index business. You will work on innovative technologies, gather requirements from Index Research, and implement sophisticated algorithms for the computation of financial data points. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining complex Java and Python-based applications using industry-standard methodologies. You will collaborate with Product Managers, UX team, and Software Engineers globally to deliver outstanding products. Engaging actively in the software development lifecycle, you will ensure products meet the highest standards from requirements gathering to testing and deployment. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining automated tests to guarantee robust, scalable, and secure applications. Leading individual project priorities, you will conduct code reviews to ensure applications meet specified standards. Additionally, you will mentor junior developers, demonstrate expertise in software design and development, and act as the Subject Matter Expert in the working domain. Qualifications: - Degree in Computer Science or Electronics / Electrical Engineering - 10+ years of experience in Core Backend Software Development Required Skills: - Excellent Algorithm and Problem-Solving skills - Ability to convert business use cases into technical solutions - Quick learner, creative, results-driven, self-motivated - Work against tight objectives, strategic thinking - Experience in CI/CD tools & automation, Performance Optimizations, JVM Profiling - Proficiency in Core Java, Python, Relational DB, DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, Microservices, REST APIs, Multi-threading & Concurrency Advantageous Skills: - Experience in financial services with an understanding of financial market data - Working with Highly Distributed & Data Intensive systems - Experience as Scrum Master, technologies like In-Memory caching, Spring Boot, Redis, Apache Kafka, BDD Testing framework Joining LSEG means being part of a global organization driving financial stability and empowering economies.
