Role Overview: As a Developer: Applications at Flex in Chennai, reporting to the Manager, your role will involve ensuring the continuity of IT systems by planning, coordinating projects, designing, building, testing, implementing, and resolving technical business solutions to automate specific business processes using various technologies such as BaaN, Flex Flow, RedPrairie, webMethods, MuleSoft, and .NET SQL. Key Responsibilities: - Develop business solutions in collaboration with stakeholders to create implementation strategies. - Ensure products meet customer requirements and function properly. - Conduct solution testing and quality assurance before handing over to other teams for testing and user sign-off. - Collaborate with business stakeholders to select appropriate technology vendors and applications. - Work closely with server and database administration for server/database migration and upgrades to ensure smooth operations. - Troubleshoot and research codes to identify errors and make necessary revisions. - Optimize database and application performance by working with database administrators. - Consult with engineering staff to evaluate and develop software-machine interfaces. - Address application security breaches in collaboration with the application security team. - Contribute to the entire development process in coordination with solution architects. - Maintain and upgrade existing systems. - Research and incorporate new technologies and fancy UI components into system solutions. - Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, coding, testing, changes, and corrections. - Evaluate software and hardware for programming purposes or as program platforms. - Convert designs and specifications into computer code. - Design and code screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems. - Create and run unit/integration/system tests for automated execution. - Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT). - Provide technical assistance and training to end-users or technical support staff. - Prepare technical reports, manuals, and documentation for program development. - Troubleshoot and provide solutions for business-critical incidents. - Collaborate with client Business System Specialist and internal stakeholders to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent systems experience is typically required. - 1-3 years of systems experience is preferred. - Knowledge of application development, procedures, utilities, and job control languages is beneficial. - Operations and technical skills with an understanding of Flex's functional standards are necessary. - Awareness of functional impact on work processes and other functions. - Proficiency in Office Skills, computer languages, word processor, spreadsheet software, and computer troubleshooting. - Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and SOLID principles. - Ability to work in teams using Software Control Repository tools like TFS and Git.
