Designer cum Sales Assistant

As a Junior Fashion Designer & Sales Assistant at House of Yara in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, you will be an integral part of our premium boutique's small and dynamic team. Your primary focus will be on innovative kids" apparel design and merchandising during low-traffic hours, with the opportunity to contribute to boutique operations as needed. This role offers a perfect balance of creative freedom and retail responsibilities, making it ideal for someone passionate about children's fashion. **Key Responsibilities:** - Create original sketches and technical flats for kids" wear collections such as dresses, tops, bottoms, and other apparels. - Develop patterns, prototypes, and garment specifications using hand sketching or software like Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop. - Assist in trend research, fabric selection (cotton, blends, prints), and merchandising planning for kids" seasonal collections. - Maintain design archives, mood boards, and a creative workflow to support inventory development. - Greet customers, provide personalized styling advice, and assist with fittings. - Handle billing, inventory tracking, and basic shop maintenance using simple POS software. - Ensure the boutique is visually appealing with window displays and organized stock. **Qualification Required:** **Must-Have Skills:** - Diploma/Bachelor's in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field. - 0-2 years of experience in fashion sketching, pattern-making, or garment construction. - Basic proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar design tools. - Understanding of kids" wear fabrics, sizing (2-12 years), and prints. **Nice-to-Have Skills:** - Retail experience or customer service skills (training provided). - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. *Requirements:* - Age: 20-28 years. - Available for full-time (10 AM - 7 PM, Monday to Sunday with Wednesdays off). - Based in Tiruppur or willing to relocate.
