Design Validation Lead

Roles & Responsibilities

• Managing and leading a team of engineers for power / embedded systems test & validation in telecom power domain
• Preparing and improving test & validation procedures / processes for an efficient, reliable and dependable validation of all products
• Coordination with design teams in R&D e.g. DCT (Power), Mechanical and System Engineering for new and existing products for validation requirements
• Coordinating with NPI, Production and Customer Support teams for product validated in along with development teams.
• Creating validation formats, test procedures and test plans for Testing and Validation of new products / existing products. Generation of Test reports for all validations.
• Continually review and improve the processes, formats and efficiency of the team
• Design and prepare test setups / test scripts for automated regression testing in collaboration with applications teams.
• Resource planning for the validation team, regular training and knowledge upgrade of team members
• Selection of test tools and setups required for validation activities.
• Selection of external design houses / teams for sub system development, where required, like mobile apps, remote monitoring apps, ATEs etc.
• Escalate issues and risks in a timely manner
• Work to plan and commit to schedule

Qualifications and Experience Required

• B Tech in Electrical, Electronics engineering
• 8 - 10 years of prior experience in validation / testing / development field

Required Technical Skills

• Good experience in testing / validation of embedded (hardware & firmware) and power systems in telecom power domain
• Analyze and validate electrical schematics and BOM
• Working knowledge of testing automation tools
• Aware of various EMI / EMC standards and environmental testing requirements as per ETSI standards
• Knowledge and Understanding of Telecom Power product performance, safety, reliability, and regulatory standards (ETSI, IEC, IEEE, etc.).
• Experience in handling small teams of engineers in relevant domain
• Should be able to guide teams for development test validation plans & procedures as per product specifications.
• Knowledge & experience of various secure coding standards like MISRA
• Good knowledge on various communication interfaces like CAN, TCP/IP, HTTP and devices like USB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and SD card etc.
• Good knowledge of testing equipment like Power Analyzer, CRO, Spectrum Analyzer etc.
