Design Thinking Lab Technician - Fabrication Tools/Machinery

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, or a related technical field (Mechanical, Electronics,
• Practical experience with fabrication tools and machinery such as 3D printers, laser cutters, hand and power tools, and soldering equipment.
• Basic understanding of electronics, sensors, and microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino).
• Working knowledge of CAD software such as Tinkercad, Fusion 360, or equivalent.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
• Fluency in English and Hindi (spoken and written) is required.
• Prior experience in a makerspace, fabrication lab, or educational environment.
• Min 2 years in a school.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Design Thinking Lab Technician to support hands-on learning and innovation in our Design Thinking Lab. The role involves assisting teachers and students, managing lab equipment and materials, and ensuring a safe, organized, and creative environment for practical learning and prototyping.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and set up tools, materials, and equipment for Design Thinking and project-based learning sessions

• Operate and maintain lab equipment such as 3D printers, laser cutters, woodworking tools, and electronics kits

• Assist students and teachers in the safe use of tools and machinery

• Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and basic troubleshooting of lab equipment

• Manage inventory of tools, consumables, and raw materials

• Support prototype development, workshops, exhibitions, and school events

• Ensure compliance with safety, cleanliness, and lab usage protocols

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, or a related technical field

• Hands-on experience with fabrication tools, digital manufacturing, or makerspace equipment

• Basic knowledge of electronics, sensors, and microcontrollers (Arduino preferred)

• Working knowledge of CAD tools such as Tinkercad or Fusion 360

• Good communication and organizational skills

• Fluency in English and Hindi

Preferred:

• Experience in a makerspace, fabrication lab, or educational environment

• Interest in Design Thinking and creative prototyping
